im wondering if it is possible to put in a smaller radiator into my ecotec?? i need a few inches less on each side to compensate for my headlight conversion.

anyone know if i could get a smaller one, or better yet if it has been done before. would there be any issues in cooling?

thanks for any info

You could use a smaller radiator. You will have to make new mountings for the radiator. You will also have to use different hoses and compensate the reduced size with greater air flow and a lower temp opening thermostat.

you can get a aluminum one that is smaller, and will cool better than the bigger stock one.

yea, i would say spend the extra money for efficeincy and you should be able to shrink it up a bit

My car may run 18s, but I can do your taxes in 10 seconds flat.
JBO lube - they would never have enough in stock and we'd never see RodimusPrime again

any links to what u mean??

or an example?

^^^excellent man...much appreciated

on another note...if i were to un-bolt the top of the radiator and push it back to gain the clearance, would i have any adverse affects?? would the radiator being angled back mess anything up? like the flow of the coolant, etc?

no problem man, glad I could help, but the angled back radiatior, I dont know if it would cause any problems with the flowing of coolant, but I wouldnt think it would cause any problems at all

ok, sorry to bring this back from the dead, but i thought i could just lean the radiator back a bit and they would fit, but it aint happening. i measured mine, its 16"x28" so i need something 16"x roughly 20" or less than 20 if possible. that link didnt have anything like that. anyone with other ideas??

thanks

i have a griffin radiator that is a universal fit... it is slightly smaller than stock. i'll try to post up pictures when i get off work. i used the stock upper radiator hose but made a new lower hose. i'll get some pics up later though. look up griffinrad.com

^^thanks much man!! not sure how i missed that on jegs

honda half radiator FTW!!!

if your gonna street drive it , get the biggest you can fit

also get a 2 row

also get a double fans , hook 1 up in place of the stock , and 1 you can control

^^^can u explain that a bit? keep in mind im basically clueless when it comes to this stuff.
not big on working in the engine bay!

and the car is barely driven. basically from my house to shows and back. i put 1100 miles on in 06
